Dragutin Horvat wins the Europe Super League and will take part in the PDC World Darts Championship again after 7 year absence

Dragutin Horvat last took part in the PDC World Darts Championship in 2017. On Friday he managed to beat Pascal Rupprecht 8-3 in the final of the Europe Super League and will therefore take part in the 2024 World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.

Horvat finished the group stage of the Europe Super League as the best of his group, defeating Michael Klönhammer 6-3 in the round of 16, Nico Kurz 6-2 in the quarter-finals and finally Lukas Wenig 7-5 in the semi-finals.

Horvat broke Rupprecht's throw in the third and fifth leg of the match and took a 5-1 lead. A 14-darter made it 6-2 for the player from Kassel, whereupon Rupprecht reduced the deficit to 6-3 with a leg in 14 darts.

Horvat now pulled out all the stops, checked 115 to 7-3 and with a break on double 8 he claimed the win.

'Hercules' becomes the fourth German taking part in the World Darts Championship, joining Martin Schindler, Gabriel Clemens and Ricardo Pietreczko in qualifiying for the event.
