Coming into this tie, Price would have been full of confidence after a brilliant weekend in Hasselt; but Durrant surged into an early lead and kept up his momentum as 'The Iceman' could not keep his cool on the doubles.
'Duzza' who is well known for his finishing concluded the tie with case and point in the form of a 129 checkout in a tie that included a 100.7 average.
Durrant was excellent to start the match taking the first leg against throw on double 20; he extended that after Price missed double eight for a 127 checkout.
He watched as Durrant went further ahead at 3-0 with a brilliant 80 checkout and he missed further darts at double five to allow the Teesside ace a 4-0 lead as he surged towards the point with relative ease.
It was Durrant's turn to miss doubles though and this allowed Price to step in and claim a 4-1 deficit. This deficit though was extended as Durrant put his average up to 102 compared to 93 and also went 5-1 ahead.
Price kept it interesting with a 12 darter for a 5-2 deficit, Was it Price's time for a comeback? Well not for a win as he couldn't hit a 113 checkout and this allowed Durrant to claim at least a point.
It was last chance saloon for Price but despite clawing another leg back, Durrant hit a brilliant 129 checkout to claim the victory.
