Evans claims third Icons of Darts League win of the week on leg difference

The final group of the week has been decided in the MODUS Icons of Darts League with David Evans leaving the second iteration of Phase Two action having won every group.

Evans wasn't at his dominant best in parts of the day claiming four wins and two defeats having only lost once before today but still he won it on leg difference for a second time running ahead of Arron Monk.

This saw him take in wins over Wessel Nijman (4-0), Arron Monk (4-3), Adam Huckvale (4-1) and finally Paul Nicholson (4-1) with that final win proving pivotal in just edging the former World Youth Champion.

His final victory saw him stop a rot of sorts for 'Stretch' after surprise successive defeats to Darryl Fitton (4-1) and Scott Mitchell (4-3).

Fitton looked like he could be the nearest challenger to Evans today but that wasn't case and after beating Wessel Nijman, he lost his final three matches to end any chance of this.

Scott Mitchell though was one of the highlights. 'Scotty Dog' saw off Evans in that aforementioned win averaging 103 and in defeating Fitton gave Evans the title.

He saved his best performance for last though smashing in a 111.3 average to defeat Paul Nicholson 4-0 with a 161 checkout en route to provide the perfect ending to the week.

Adam Huckvale was excellent towards the end of the day winning three on the bounce after three defeats ending level on points with Scott Mitchell and Darryl Fitton.

While Wessel Nijman and Paul Nicholson finalised the table with four points each to end another week of Icons of Darts League.
