"Everybody else is chasing something they haven't got" - Gerwyn Price believes past World Grand Prix winning experience sets him apart from semi-final field
Gerwyn Price was in fine form once again on Friday night as he romped to a 3-0 win over Martin Schindler, reaching the World Grand Prix semi-finals.
"I felt a little bit more comfortable in that game than the previous two," said 'the Iceman' in a post-match press conference. "Doubles went a little bit better than what they have over the last two games so yeah, if I can put that together, with a bit more scoring in between I'll be alright."
Losing just one leg in the match, Price has eased into the semi-finals without losing a set so far. Not all the big pre-tournament favourites have had it so easy however as Price is the only former World Grand Prix winner remaining.
"Everybody else is chasing something they haven't got, they haven't had. I want to win it for the second time but yeah, doesn't really make a difference now," he explains. "With this format doesn't matter if you're playing Michael van Gerwen or number 128 in the world. If you don't start, or you struggle a little bit at the beginning of legs then yeah, you're in trouble."
"I'm defending the Grand Slam so this would ease a little bit of pressure there ranking points and money wise. If I could pick this trophy up then it's another trophy in the cabinet with a little bit of pressure eased."
