At the last minute, there have been quite a few withdrawals for the 2026
German Darts Grand Prix, the Euro Tour event taking place in Munich over the course of Easter weekend. Four players pulled out ahead of the draw,
according to the PDC.
The most notable absentee may well be
Gerwyn Price. The Welshman was in superb form last Thursday during Night Nine of the 2026 Premier League Darts season and clinched his second nightly win of the campaign in convincing fashion.
Two-time world champion
Gary Anderson will also miss the
German Darts Grand Prix. His withdrawal is not much of a surprise. The Flying Scotsman did play the Poland Darts Open earlier this year, where he lost in the first round. He then skipped both the second and third Euro Tour events. Anderson will therefore also be absent from the fourth Euro Tour tournament.
Luke Humphries, the reigning German Darts Grand Prix champion, will likewise not make the trip to Germany. Humphries won the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze last month, which already puts him in a strong position to qualify for the European Championship without the need for further travel.
The fourth withdrawal came from
Chris Dobey. Luke Littler and Stephen Bunting are also missing from this Euro Tour event. The two Englishmen had not even entered the German Darts Grand Prix.
The four withdrawals have been replaced by the highest-ranked players who lost their match in the final round of the Tour Card qualifier. Those were Andrew Gilding, Ian White, Karel Sedlacek, and Cor Dekker.
This is the eighth staging of the German Darts Grand Prix. Michael van Gerwen has been extremely successful at this tournament in the past, winning the event in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2025. Last year, Mighty Mike won an all-Dutch final 8-5 against Gian van Veen.
