Greaves leads PDC Women's Series Order of Merit ahead of Suzuki with Sherrock and Ashton left with work to do

Beau Greaves was, as expected, the big winner during the opening weekend of the PDC Women's Series. But a clean sweep did not come.

The 19-year-old had won all of the last eight tournaments of 2022 and also won the first two events of the new season on Saturday. However, at PDC Women's Series 3 on Sunday, Greaves suffered a rare defeat against Mikuru Suzuki, who also managed to win that tournament. Later in the day, Greaves did recover by winning the fourth tournament.

Thanks to three tournament wins and a quarter-final place, Greaves earned £6300 in prize money last weekend. With that, she immediately closed a gap with number two Mikuru Suzuki (£4,000). In turn, the Japanese has a sizeable lead over number three Rhian O'Sullivan (£1,900).

But the curious case is further down with previous dominant forces in Fallon Sherrock and Lisa Ashton way down in the top ten with work to do after Greaves and Suzuki stole a march.

Trina Gulliver (£650), Corrine Hammond (£650), Aileen de Graaf (£600), Anastasia Dobromyslova (£500) are also among the other top names further down.

The ladies can earn prize money with their results. These performances will count towards the final ranking. The top two players get to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts and the PDC World Darts Championship. Moreover, after 12 tournaments, the top eight of the rankings will receive an invitation to the Women's World Matchplay.
