Daryl Gurney is into the semi-finals of the European Championship after victory over Dave Chisnall and he will now play Rob Cross later.
Gurney denied Chisnall another chance to win his first major title and he now has a huge chance to add to his World Grand Prix and Players Championship Finals triumphs as he aims to put himself into Premier League contention.
Chisnall claimed the first leg against Gurney on the throw with a tops tops checkout but Gurney responded in style with a 164 checkout on the bull perfectly.
Gurney followed it up with a 109 checkout to move 3-2 ahead with 3/3 on the doubles and he went two up when a miscount cost Chisnall. As a result Gurney punished to go 4-2 ahead.
'Superchin' continued to build his lead and at the first interval he was 6-4 up with Chisnall still keeping himself in contention despite that.
Chisnall missed further darts to break throw and as a result, Gurney went 8-5 up and more of the same happened in the next leg with Chisnall missing darts to break the throw allowing Gurney to go one away.
Gurney's clinical performance continued and from there, he claimed victory with a 141 checkout to become the second player to move through to the semi-finals.
