Conor Heneghan has sealed Event Eight of this year's PDC Development Tour by defeating Jitse van der Wal in the final in Wigan.
It is a maiden title for Heneghan who has reached previous finals including during Event Two losing to Keane Barry but he now joins Nathan Rafferty and Jurjen van der Velde in sealing titles this weekend.
The Development Tour is the youth circuit of the PDC. This tour is open for players aged 16 to 23. Players who turn 24 during the season are allowed to continue competing.
In 2022, the PDC Development Tour circuit consists of 24 tournaments. Last year, due to COVID-19, there was a separate tour for British and European players, but this year both circuits have been merged again.
Each Development Tour tournament has a prize pool of £10,000. With the prize money a ranking is made. At the end of the season the numbers one and two receive an invitation to the PDC World Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2023 and 2024.
