In Cardiff, Luke Littler was again unbeatable. With a fabulous average of 112.50 he beat Michael van Gerwen 6-4 in the final of Night Seven of the 2025 Premier League Darts, hitting a nine-darter en route. In the process, Littler also consolidates his position at the top of the league table.

As mentioned, Littler also threw a nine-darter in the final against Van Gerwen. He did so via the somewhat unconventional route of treble 20 - treble 17 - double 15. "I didn't realise it was in," admitted Littler when speaking to the media post-match. "Obviously the crowd went berserk, Huw Ware [match referee ed.], didn't shout it, but when he shouted it, I finally realised and gave it the big celebration."

Littler hit a record equalling four nine-darters over the course of the 2024 season. Having now already ticked his individual counter over to two this season, could Littler once again threaten the record in 2025? "It's taken me a few months to hit one of them, and now I've got my second," says Littler. "You know when it's almost coming. The hardest thing is the next treble after you've hit a 180. But when you get it, then you feel up for it."

As it turned out though, Littler didn't get everything he wanted on Night Seven in Cardiff. "I wanted Gerwyn Price to win and try and beat him on home soil," the teenage sensation laughed, also reflecting on the welcome he received from the Welsh crowd. "I got a few boos on the walk-on in my first game, but that's bound to happen. You've just got to focus - hit the 180s, they'll be with you; hit the high checkouts and they'll be with you."

"I think [the crowd was flat] after Gerwyn went out, but I was playing really well and in the final, they were on my side," he adds. "It will feel very different when the home favourite goes out in the first match, but then the crowd have got choices to make on who to support, and luckily they supported me tonight."

In addition to the 10,000 pounds each weekly winner receives, Littler is also rewarded for his ninth dart. Indeed, main sponsor BetMGM is providing a set of gold darts worth a whopping 30,000 pounds.
