Cameron Crabtree is one of the young talents on the PDC Pro Tour. The 21-year-old Englishman only captured his PDC Tour Card early this year, but has already moved up to 94th in the world rankings thanks to some strong results.

Crabtree successfully completed Q-School in January, and has enjoyed his first two months on the Pro Tour. "It's been a good start you know, I'm happy with how I'm doing. I've managed to pick up money in every event so far, so that's always good," Crabtree assesses in conversation with Tungsten Tales. "I'm not playing too bad, I've just got to try and keep it going."

In Crabtree's quest to join the darting elite however, things have been made slightly tougher by the latest changes to the qualification criteria for the European Tour in 2025. For example, there are only 10 players who can qualify through the qualifying tournament and they also have to play against a seeded player immediately. Although it's a change that has been met with much criticism, Crabtree himself doesn’t see the fuss.

"Definitely they're very, very important and the fact that there's so few people qualifying for them," Crabtree says. "I know there's been a bit of uproar about the changes to the qualifiers and you know, how many people qualifying and who you play when you qualify. But that's not something that I have really taken too much notice of. Simply because, having not had my Tour Card before, I'm not too clued up on what the rules were. But listen, if you want to be in the top 32, the top 16, the top 8, you have to beat everyone."

Crabtree is four years older than Littler, but still one of the youngest players on the PDC Pro Tour. "I think I'm actually like the third youngest person on the tour now. But I've come to darts a lot later than most," he concludes. "He (Littler ed.) is 18 now, but he's been playing since he was 2. So he's been playing for about 16 years! Yeah I'm three years older than him, but I've only been playing for like a third of the time."
