Ilagan, Suzuki and Perez seal PDC World Darts Championship return, Nebrida set to debut as PDC Asian Championship reaches semi-finals

While there was heartbreak for fan favourite Paul Lim who will not make his PDC World Darts Championship return, four players including Toru Suzuki who defeated Lim have booked their Alexandra Palace spots at the PDC Asian Championship.

Suzuki is the only Japanese player to win through with the remaining trio from the Philippines headlined by Lourence Ilagan with 'The Gunner' set to return to North London again.

Playing six times at the PDC edition, he has qualified over the past four years and is always seen as a tricky test for the ProTour players who will face the International Qualifiers.

The former lost to Madars Razma during last year's tournament and will make his return, while for Perez, he will make his first appearance since 2015 after priorly also qualifying in 2010 and 2012.

Paolo Nebrida is the only player to qualify who is making his debut. He will make his big stage debut after qualifying for the World Cup of Darts last year but was unable to take his spot due to his COVID-19 vaccination not being valid in Germany.

There will definitely be a player from the Philippines also at the Grand Slam of Darts with Christian Perez and Paolo Nebrida into the final of the 2022 Asian Championship as of time of writing with the winner set to take a spot in Aldersley later this year through the new qualification criteria.

Perez defeated Ilagan 6-1 with a 91 average, while for Nebrida, it was a 6-3 success with an 86 average.
