Paul Lim misses out on 15th PDC World Darts Championship appearance after defeat in PDC Asian Championship Last 16

Paul Lim has competed at the PDC World Darts Championship 14 times and has become part of the furniture especially in recent years at the Alexandra Palace but for the first time since 2017, he will not play in the showpiece tournament.

Bringing together some of the best Asian players due to the Asian Tour being cancelled again, the PDC Asian Championship semi-finalists seal spots at Ally Pally while the winner does so and also claims a Grand Slam spot this year.

But Lim suffered an agonising loss to Toru Suzuki with the Singapore Slinger coming back from 3-0 down with three 14-darters before a 170 finish forced a deciding leg. However he missed two match darts before Suzuki hit 74 for the victory.

Those still in the running include Lourence Ilagan who is the standout in the field, as well as Christian Perez, Yuki Yamada who will face Suzuki for a spot and Paolo Nebrida who is set to take on Jun Matsuda. Those spots will be claimed on Sunday.
