Gabriel Clemens qualified for the last 16 of the Belgian Darts Open on Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 victory over Ryan Meikle.
That meant revenge for 'The German Giant' after losing to Meikle at the Hungarian Darts Trophy in September. Clemens impressed especially with his finishes, as he did not miss a dart at double.
"I play off the 501 and that's what I have to do," Clemens told the on-stage interview after his victory. "I don't think I made a mistake finishing. That's the way to win."
At another Euro Tour tournament in September, the German Darts Open, Clemens lost to Martin Lukeman in the first round despite an average of 107. He also looked back on that briefly. ''I don't know what happened then. But now I'm really happy."
