Jeffrey de Graaf returns to Pro Tour after five-year absence: "I started the last day without pressure"

Jeffrey de Graaf secured a PDC Tour Card for the next two years on the final day of Q-School.

De Graaf, who did not really do great in the first days of Q-School, went all the way on the final day, winning in dramatic fashion 6-5 over Jitse van der Wal to his spot on the Pro Tour. "It's great that I get to return to the Pro Tour after five-years away," opened the Dutchman, who now represents Sweden, in his interview with the PDC post-match.

After a poor showing in the first three days left De Graaf pointless in the Order of Merit, only overall victory on Sunday would've been good enough. "That meant I started the last day without pressure, I could play freely. But once I reached the last sixteen the nerves started to play a part. I am very happy that I was able to finish the job."

In the final, De Graaf faced Dutchman Jitse van der Wal, who was already sure of a Tour Card. "But he didn't make it easy for me," De Graaf laughed. "He played even better than in some of his other matches."

De Graaf recently performed strongly at the World Darts Championship, where he defeated Ritchie Edhouse and José de Sousa consecutively before eventually losing to Rob Cross. In 2016, he also reached the last sixteen at the Players Championship Finals.
