Christian Kist and Marcel Walpen have secured qualification for the European Darts Grand Prix on Friday afternoon via the Associate Member Qualifier. This Euro Tour event will take place in Sindelfingen from 26 to 28 May.
Players who had participated in the Q-School at the beginning of the year but had not won a PDC Tour Card were allowed to participate in this qualifying tournament. Through this qualifier, two starting spots can be earned for a Euro Tour tournament.
Former Lakeside champion Kist was the first to secure his spot after victories over Marcel Schachner (5-0), Darryl Pilgrim (5-4), Jimmy van Schie (5-2) and Stefan Schroder (5-1). It will be Kist's first Euro Tour participation since 2017.
Compatriot Marcel Gies was then able to join Kist but lost 5-3 to Walpen in the final round. The Swiss had previously won against Philip van Gasse (5-4), Jack Main (5-3) and Stefan Bellmont (5-2).
