Going into last nights final week of regular Premier League Darts action, the equation for Jonny Clayton was simple. After his quarter-final defeat to Nathan Aspinall however, the Welshman had a nervous wait.
Thankfully for Clayton, his World Cup of Darts partner Gerwyn Price delivered a massive favour by defeating Aspinall in the semi-final and ensuring that it would be Clayton and not 'the Asp' who would be returning next week for finals night.
"Not the performance I wanted tonight, but happy to have still made it through," Clayton reacted to drama of the night on Twitter. "Nathan Aspinall was far better than me tonight, but it looks like I owe Gerwyn Price a drink. Can’t wait for finals night now."
