Luke Littler has taken the win on Night Eight of the 2025 Premier League Darts in Newcastle. In the final, The Nuke comfortably defeated his main rival Luke Humphries 6-1, taking his fourth weekly win of the campaign so far and in the process extending his lead at the top of the table over the world number one.
En route to his fifth straight weekly final, Littler absolutely destroyed Stephen Bunting 6-0 in the quarter-finals, before coming a trickier test against Rob Cross in the semi-finals 6-3. Humphries meanwhile, got the better of the hometown hero Chris Dobey 6-3 in the quarter-finals, then needed to produce his very best darts to deny recent Euro Tour winner Nathan Aspinall 6-5 in a thrilling semi-final.
Over the course of their Premier League Darts meetings over the past two years, it has so often been Littler that has held the advantage and that proved to be the case again this Thursday night in Newcastle.
The world champion started incredibly well against the world number one, punishing a number of missed darts at double from Humphries to take firm control of the contest in legs of 15, 15, 17 and 16. By no means the most scintillating stuff The Nuke can produce, but as it turned out, more than good enough for a 4-0 lead.
Humphries though, struck back in leg 5, finally getting himself off the mark and with a break of throw no less. After missing two darts to hold in the next leg though, Humphries was punished again by Littler as the teenage sensation moved one away from the win with a 16-darter finished on tops. Moments later, Littler secured the win with a stunning 106 checkout for the match.
