The world's two best darters face off against each other later this Thursday on Night Six of the 2025 Premier League Darts 2025. Luke Humphries and Luke Littler continue their rivalry in the quarter-finals in Nottingham.

Littler and Humphries have combined to win four of the first five rounds of play from this year's edition, with Humphries currently holding a two-point lead over his biggest rival at the top of the league standings.

Humphries won the weekly titles in Belfast and Exeter, while Littler was best in Glasgow and Brighton. Last week, Humphries suffered his first defeat in a quarterfinal though, after losing out to Rob Cross in a high-quality encounter, despite throwing the first televised nine-darter of his career. “I was really pleased to hit the nine-darter last week, but Rob played a fantastic game to beat me,” Humphries acknowledged in conversation with the PDC. The world number one then saw Littler approach to within two points in the rankings.

Humphries does appear to be halfway to reaching the playoffs. After all, he has an eight-point lead over number five Gerwyn Price. "I’m in a good position, but I’m still going to have to work hard to pick up these wins," he assesses.

Given that the tournament brings together eight of the darting elite, there are no easy games in the Premier League Darts, but the former world champion does seem to face an especially tough schedule in the coming weeks. "I’ve got Luke this week, and then Michael [van Gerwen] in the quarter-finals next week," explains Humphries. “It’s going to be tough, but I know I’ve got the credentials to beat them both, and hopefully I can get some more points this week and stay top of the table!”
