Luke Littler fights back from the brink to set up another meeting with Michael van Gerwen at 2025 Premier League Darts

Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen have kicked off Night Two of the 2025 Premier League Darts in Glasgow with wins, setting up a mouthwatering semifinal later this evening.
The recently crowned world champion certainly didn't have things all his own way in his quarter-final against Rob Cross. In fact, Voltage, who has already picked up two titles so far this year, raced ahead into a 5-1 against Littler, looking pretty faultless in the process.
Littler though, got a leg back in the 7th, sarcastically celebrating his success. After Cross blew an opportunity to win the contest 6-2, Littler picked up another leg and suddenly the sarcasm was replaced by an intent focus and determination. As Littler continued his comeback charge, Cross was beginning to crack, not helped by the crowd properly getting on the former world champion's back.
After missed two darts at double 18 to win the match 6-4, his bottle had seemingly gone completely and after Littler forced a deciding leg, Cross simply couldn't buy a treble, allowing Littler to snatch the 6-5 win from the jaws of defeat and get his first Premier League points on the board for 2025.

Things were much, much easier for Michael van Gerwen in his match against Stephen Bunting. The Dutchman, who reached the semifinals last time out in Belfast had little opposition from Bunting, who continues to falter in the early stages of his Premier League Darts return.
By racing out into a 5-0 lead, Van Gerwen consistently punished every little error made by Bunting, in turn making little mistakes of his own. Although Bunting did get one leg on the board, unlike in the first game of the evening, this time there was no comeback with Van Gerwen setting up another meeting with Littler thanks to a 6-1 demolition of the Bullet.

- I agree. There needs to be a points system and preferably just a rolling one year. World Championship should earn the most points though it can be argued that the current qualification system does see a fair few players qualify from regional country qualifiers who would struggle to hold down a place on the Pro Tour. If prize money won is going to remain as the determining factor for ranking then the World Championship should just consist of the 128 Tour Card Holders. Another option would be to take the World Championship out of the rankings and have it as the stand alone pinnacle that you qualify for by winning certain tournaments or your ranking position, sort of like a GSOD+.Mysstree05-04-2025
