Luke Littler's bogeyman? Gerwyn Price takes 5th straight win over teenage world champion to set up Premier League Darts semifinal with Luke Humphries

Gerwyn Price has made it to the last four in fine fashion during the third round of the 2025 Premier League Darts in Dublin. At the 3Arena, 'The Iceman' dealt with Luke Littler, meaning Price has now won six of the 10 meetings between himself and 'The Nuke', including the last five in a row!
Price took a break lead as early as the third leg after Littler missed a chance at tops to keep his own leg. Price hit the double 6 to make it 2-1. Littler missed one chance at the rebreak and saw Price tally for the 3-1 via double 6.
According to it, the Welshman even made it to 4-1 via a 15-darter. Littler then grabbed one break back by finishing 109 and closed to 4-3 with an 11-darter. Littler connected for the equalizer, but missed the double 20. Price then held the lead by hitting double 4 to make it 5-3. Littler halved the deficit with a 14-darter before Price took the win with a 12-darter.
In the semifinals, Price will take on Luke Humphries, who made a strong impression against Stephen Bunting. Thanks to an average of 103.51, the world number one won 6-4. Humphries took a break lead in the third leg after Bunting missed two chances to keep his own leg. 'Cool Hand Luke' doubled the margin to 3-1 with a 14-darter.
In the remainder of the match Humphries did not give anything away in his own legs. He hit a 13-darter and a 14-darter to make it 5-3, before Bunting managed to keep the match alive with a 15-darter. Humphries then started the tenth leg and the former world champion took the win with a 15-darter.
Later in the evening, Humphries and Price will face each other in the semifinals, but first the other two quarterfinals will be played. Rob Cross plays against Nathan Aspinall, and Michael van Gerwen faces Chris Dobey.

- obviously littler has the potential to surpass everybody simply because nobody has been this good at this age before, but people who think he would be any kind of favourite right now against prime taylor in a big final have short memories. it's obvious that prime taylor wouldn't win as many world titles if he was playing today, but there's also good reason to believe he'd be winning more than anybody else. hell, his statistical profile still stands alone in darts history and he might statistically be even better if he was playing today with better equipment, larger beds, more competition therefore more motivation, etc.colt24-03-2025
