Paul Lim will make another appearance at the World Cup of Darts after helping Singapore qualify through the Asian qualifiers last weekend.
The 70-year-old veteran, who famously hit the first nine-darter at a World Championship, will represent Singapore for the first time without long-time partner Harith Lim. The pair had played together at every World Cup since 2014, memorably reaching the quarter-finals in 2017 with a shock win over Scotland’s Gary Anderson and Peter Wright.
This year, Lim teamed up with Phuay Wei Tan to guide Singapore past Mongolia, Brunei, Taiwan and Macau and book their spot at the main event.
Taiwan and Malaysia also secured qualification. Malaysia’s Tengku Shah and Jenn Ming Tan won their place by defeating Taiwan in the qualifier final, before Taiwan bounced back to beat Macau in a playoff to seal the final Asian spot.
