PDC Order of Merit Update: Josh Rock passes Scottish darting legends for breakthrough as Stephen Bunting returns to top five

The PDC Order of Merit has been updated ahead of the International Darts Open this weekend in Riesa with some changes to report from the top 10 and further down from the recent double header in Leicester of ProTour action.
There has been a further breakthrough for Josh Rock. The Northern Irishman won Players Championship 10 last Tuesday, moving up three spots in the world rankings. He passed Danny Noppert and Scottish darts legends Gary Anderson and Peter Wright and is now ranked 13th, his highest position ever on the PDC Order of Merit.
Cameron Menzies also did good business with a final place in Leicester, progressing two spots. He is now ranked No. 37 in the world and it seems a matter of time before 'Cammy' makes his debut in the global top-32. Another player who had a good week in Leicester was Ian White, who was in a ranking final for the first time since 2020. As a result, he was able to swap the 52nd spot in the world rankings for the 50th position, and thus amassed important pounds to retain his Tour Card after this season.
While Mike de Decker has managed to insert himself into nearly being the Belgian Number One. He is very close to the top 20 in the world and Dimitri van den Bergh looms. A title would seal the spot for him. Just inside the top 64 too there was also changes with Jim Williams (54), Robert Owen (56) and COnnor Scutt (59) all up one position.
Stephen Bunting back to the top has also reinserted himself into the top five of the rankings with a good week in Leicester jumping above Jonny Clayton for now.

- I agree. There needs to be a points system and preferably just a rolling one year. World Championship should earn the most points though it can be argued that the current qualification system does see a fair few players qualify from regional country qualifiers who would struggle to hold down a place on the Pro Tour. If prize money won is going to remain as the determining factor for ranking then the World Championship should just consist of the 128 Tour Card Holders. Another option would be to take the World Championship out of the rankings and have it as the stand alone pinnacle that you qualify for by winning certain tournaments or your ranking position, sort of like a GSOD+.Mysstree05-04-2025
