The PDC's Bullseye Maths initiative received global publicity during the World Matchplay as more sessions took place and Sky Sports showcased it on their coverage.
Bullseye Maths was launched early this year as a math initiative for students to improve their math skills in a fun way. On the website of the PDC you will find the interactive game Mathlete and some downloadable worksheets. This is accompanied by school visits in conjunction with Nottingham College.
Dirk van Duijvenbode and Rowby-John Rodriguez made time last week during the World Matchplay to visit a school in Farington. The duo took part in two sessions with schoolchildren and footage of the visit was broadcast worldwide during the Sky Sports coverage of the World Matchplay. In addition, Gerwyn Price took part in a session in the Winter Gardens with players from the Blackburn Academy of the Junior Darts Corporation.
Great success
"Bullseye Maths has been hugely successful since launching in February and our school visits have been a popular feature of the scheme," said PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter.
"Our players have been great in supporting the initiative and students around the country have really enjoyed the sessions.
"The feedback from students and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive and it's great to be able to use darts as a way to increase engagement in maths."
Additional school visits will be organized later this year around PDC televised events, while the online Bullseye Maths portal will remain available to students throughout the year.
