Night 12 of the 2026 Premier League Darts in Liverpool delivered a record-breaking night of scoring, with a remarkable 55 maximums hit across the evening at the M&S Bank Arena.

That figure comfortably surpasses the previous high points of the season, with 44 recorded on opening night in Newcastle and 42 in Nottingham on Night 6, underlining just how high the standard rose in Liverpool.
At the centre of that surge was Michael van Gerwen, who produced one of the standout scoring displays of the campaign with 14 maximums across his matches. The Dutchman was relentless on the treble 20, repeatedly applying pressure even in defeat later in the night.

Clayton and Littler help drive record total

Van Gerwen was not alone in pushing the numbers to new heights. Jonny Clayton added 11 maximums of his own, while Luke Littler contributed 10, meaning the trio combined for 35 of the 55 total 180s thrown on the night.
That concentration of scoring power underlined the relentless pace of the evening, with matches played at a level where almost every leg carried the threat of another maximum. From the opening quarter-finals through to the final, the standard rarely dipped.
The semi-final between Littler and Van Gerwen in particular encapsulated that trend, with nine 180s and three 11-dart legs in a high-quality contest that still required a deciding leg to separate the pair.

Littler caps record night with dominant Liverpool win

While the scoring headlines were shared across the field, it was Luke Littler who ultimately took full advantage on the night. The world champion produced a composed display to win Night 12, defeating Jonny Clayton 6-1 in the final to close the gap at the top of the table.
Littler contributed 10 maximums across the evening, the third highest tally on the night, but his strength lay in how efficiently he converted key moments. After edging a high-quality semi-final against Michael van Gerwen, he carried that momentum into the final and quickly took control.
In contrast to the earlier rounds, where matches were defined by fine margins and bursts of scoring, the final was settled by Littler’s ability to maintain his level and punish missed chances, turning a meeting between the top two in the standings into a one-sided result.

Liverpool sets the benchmark for the weeks ahead

With 55 maximums recorded, Liverpool now sets the benchmark for the remainder of the 2026 Premier League campaign. Given the current level of form across the field, particularly among the leading contenders, it would be no surprise to see that record challenged again in the coming weeks. For now, though, Night 12 stands as the clearest example yet of just how high the standard has risen.
With players producing scoring bursts at this level, records are no longer targets, they are simply by-products of the pace at which the modern Premier League is being played.
