Price sails past home hero Schindler, De Sousa defies superb display from Beaton

The third Quarter-Final is set at the German Darts Open with Gerwyn Price set to face Jose de Sousa this evening after seeing off Martin Schindler and Steve Beaton in Jena.

Price after a closely fought encounter with Lewy Williams yesterday had no such problems with home hero, Martin Schindler after the build up of battling not only 'The Wall' on the oche but also the crowd.

He smashed through the former with a 6-1 win averaging 106 with 6/7 on the doubles as he laid down a marker to continue the afternoon session.

A high scoring game could await in the evening session with De Sousa next up after 'The Special One' defied a superb display from Beaton in a doubling masterclass to move through.

Beaton averaged 99.2 in a 6-3 defeat but still fell to a 100.8 average, three 180's and 66% on the doubles from the Portuguese ace who will stake his claim for another European Tour title after ending 'The Bronzed Adonis' big stage return.
