The next Quarter-Final is set at the
German Darts Open with
Peter Wright set to face
Ross Smith for a spot in the semi-finals in Jena.
Wright continued his return after surgery by downing
Jonny Clayton in a repeat of their Stuttgart tie which was also won by 'Snakebite' in what is turning out already to be a confidence building weekend.
It was a 6-3 win for the World Champion who produced a 98 average and four 180's to move through but it was the display of Smith which truly caught the eye.
'Smudger' hit top form to dump out
Damon Heta in a near flawless display averaging 106.6 in the process with six 180's and 60% on the doubles to prevail.
In a field still full of the big names, will it be Smith who prevails for his first
European Tour or can Wright stop him in his tracks?
