The 22nd Players Championship event of the season will be played during the fourth day of the PDC Winter Series on Friday. All results can be followed in our live blog.

The PDC Winter Series consists of five Players Championship tournaments from November 10-14. All results during this five-day event count towards the PDC Winter Series Order of Merit.

Final Update 20:10 - Wright claims Day Four title

Peter Wright has claimed the latest PDC Winter Series title with an 8-7 win over Jose de Sousa in the final - read the report below:

Back tomorrow for one final day of action and the Grand Slam of Darts draw with a lot still to play for with the Players Championship Finals also on the horizon.

Update 19:20 - Wright to face De Sousa in final

The final will see Peter Wright face off against Jose de Sousa after the semi-finals were complete on Day Four of the PDC Winter Series.

Wright was first through to the final after breezing past Joe Cullen in a 7-1 win with a 99.2 average. Can he add a first title of the week?

He will take on 'The Special One' who has had an excellent run this week and he could add to his European Tour triumph with his first Players Championship title. He edged past Adrian Lewis in a 7-5 win averaging 103.9.

Update 18:40 - Lewis v De Sousa and Wright v Cullen set for semi-finals

The semi-final line-up is complete at the penultimate PDC Winter Series and Adrian Lewis has continued in his best run for some time.

Lewis averaged 99 in seeing off Ryan Murray in a 6-3 win ending the Scot's run and he will next face off against recent first time European Tour winner, Jose de Sousa who is having another good run today. He ended the charge of Jonny Clayton in a 6-3 win.

While in the opposite section, Peter Wright will aim to claim his first title of the week when he faces Joe Cullen who saw off yesterday's finalist, Damon Heta.

Update 18:10 - Lewis, Wright and De Sousa through to Quarter-Finals

The Quarter-Finals are confirmed at the PDC Winter Series with Adrian Lewis, Peter Wright and Jose de Sousa among those still involved in Coventry.

Lewis averaged 104 in a 6-3 victory over Ryan Searle and will now face off against Ryan Murray who edged past Dirk van Duijvenbode in a 6-5 win in another good run for the Scot.

While De Sousa defeated another star of the week in the form of Brendan Dolan with a 6-3 win which included a 101 average from 'The Special One'. He will face Jonny Clayton.

Wright breezed past Ricky Evans and will now take on Jermaine Wattimena, a finalist earlier this week. Another finalist this week is Damon Heta and he has continued his form with a 106 average to defeat Nathan Aspinall 6-3, Joe Cullen awaits.

Update 17:35 - Wright hits 108 average in Lennon win, Smith and Aspinall also through

The Last 32 is complete on Day Two of the PDC Winter Series with Michael van Gerwen out with a defeat against Adrian Lewis.

But for the likes of Peter Wright, Michael Smith and Nathan Aspinall, they are successfully through to the Last 16.

Wright hit a big average once more in the form of 108 against Steve Lennon winning through in a 6-1 win as he looks to claim his first title of the week.

While Michael Smith has already claimed two this week and could make it three with his latest win coming against James Wilson averaging 102 in a 6-1 win.

Krzysztof Kciuk and Damon Heta also continue their brilliance from Day Three and with Wright, Smith and Aspinall, a few of the big names left, it could mean a big chance today.

Update 17:30 - Van Gerwen dumped out by Lewis

Michael van Gerwen is out of proceedings on the penultimate day at the PDC Winter Series with a first defeat to Adrian Lewis since 2017.

A return to action for Mighty Mike but not a successful one, he will be back tomorrow to try and claim a title ahead of the Grand Slam.

Update 17:00 - Smith and Aspinall impress as second round concludes

The second round has concluded on the penultimate day at the PDC Winter Series with Michael Smith, Nathan Aspinall and Ryan Searle producing impressive displays to reach the Last 32.

Smith averaged 102 in defeating Harald Leitinger in a 6-2 victory as he aims for a third title of the week. While Nathan Aspinall averaged 100 to win 6-3 against Keegan Brown and Dave Chisnall is out after losing a closely fought tie to Ricky Evans.

Ryan Searle averaged 105 to defeat Scott Waites 6-2 in one of the best performances of the round average wise.

Update 16:15 - Van Gerwen survives scare against Burnett, Wright hits 106 average to defeat Thornton

The second round has began with results filtering in and contrasting results for Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright who begin their day at this point.

Van Gerwen was poor on his doubles against Richie Burnett despite averaging 97 and was taken to a decider by the former Lakeside World Champion.

But he had a disaster leg on his throw to win and handed MVG the match on a plate which he gratefully took to move through but it could have been an immediate exit for the World Number One.

Wright unlike MVG has played everyday but got into the second round with a bye due to Gerwyn Price withdrawing from proceedings. He made the most of this with a 106 average to defeat Robert Thornton 6-1.

Update 16:00 - Lewis defeats Whitlock as first round concludes

The first round is complete on the latest day of the PDC Winter Series with Adrian Lewis getting some luck on his side by defeating Simon Whitlock in a 6-3 win.

Lewis hasn't been getting the best draws as of late but averaged 98 in seeing off the in-form Wizard in what he hopes will be a catalyst for the rest of the day.

While there were also impressive displays to round out the first round from Joe Murnan with a 101 average to defeat Niels Zonneveld 6-0, Ryan Searle with a 101 average to see off Andy Hamilton 6-3 and also Daryl Gurney who averaged 103 in seeing off Boris Krcmar 6-2.

There is also the matter in the next round of Michael van Gerwen's first match being against the livewire Prince of Wales, Richie Burnett which is currently taking place.

Update 14:35 - Ashton stuns Cross, White and De Sousa impress

The seeded players have began proceedings on the penultimate day at the PDC Winter Series with Lisa Ashton dumping out Rob Cross and Ian White and Jose de Sousa impressing.

Ashton punished seven missed match darts to hit double 10 and see off the former World Champion in a 6-5 victory.

While Ian White smashed in a 112 average to see off Matt Clark in a 6-2 win, Jose de Sousa was less comprehensive but he got the job done with a 106 average seeing off Andy Boulton 6-5.

There was also opening victories for the likes of Damon Heta (d. Maikel Verberk 6-4), Nathan Aspinall (d. Keane Barry 6-3), Brendan Dolan (d. Conan Whitehead 6-0).

Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright begin their campaigns in the Last 64 due to byes after the withdrawals of Gerwyn Price and Gary Anderson.
