Rob Cross will aim to let his darts do the talking amid all of the noise going on behind him and he has done just that winning Players Championship 22 in Wigan on Wednesday.

Cross saw off Maik Kuivenhoven in a surprise final for the Dutchman, but one that saw 'Voltage' overwhelm his opponent who will aim to reclaim his Tour Card for another year after a great run.
But it has been an interesting few weeks for Cross as he has referenced after announcing his split with his wife Georgia, he has gone on now to win a title and he spoke about the outside noise and that as long as he still believes he still thinks he's got success in him.
That success is another ProTour as he hunts more milestones including finding his way into the World Matchplay. Cross was confident after his title bid and said he always thought he was going to win and that usually when that mindset is there he does.
“I always thought I was going to win, and when I’m like that, usually I do win," assessed Cross post final.
But after a bit of a fraught 18 months, he said that it is sometimes a bit difficult to escape the noise and that when he can do it, that is when he thrives as he aims to put any personal issues behind him and return to his best again.
“I’ve had my trials and tribulations. I’ve got a lot going on at the minute. If I can get the best out of my capabilities I believe I can win every day, but sometimes mentally it can hold you back.

From dead and buried to Blackpool

Often the hallmark of Cross is the fact that he can come from nowhere when he looks dead and buried. He is now heading towards the World Matchplay and said that it has been a long road. But that he always believed.
He practically cemented his spot with an average of 98.91 and is looking forward to a special event that he has previously won having claimed this title.
“Three months ago you look at the World Matchplay [race] and I’m out of it. I’m probably £15,000 adrift, but I managed to give myself a good kick up the backside.

“I know the World Matchplay is around the corner, and I love the World Matchplay. It’s all about results, and to win this today is very special for me.
“I’ve still got a great support behind me, and if I can carry on playing the way I am, I still think I’m dangerous to the top boys in the world.”
