Madars Razma showed on Friday at the 2025
Austrian Darts Open in Graz, that losing doesn't always have to mean the end of the party.
Despite being narrowly edged out 6-5 by
Ian White in the opening round, the Latvian darts player decided not to cut his trip to Austria short. Instead, Razma popped up in the crowd in a delightfully unexpected way.
While some players - like
Raymond van Barneveld - prefer to head straight home after a defeat, Razma chose a completely different approach. His decision was driven by a group of friends who had travelled all the way to the Steiermarkhalle near Graz just to support him. Naturally, the world number 43 didn’t want to disappoint them.
So, in true showman style, Razma joined the fans disguised in a duck costume, complete with a hood and dark sunglasses, enjoying a night at the darts in blissful anonymity. He later shared his experience on social media, posting a photo of his costume with the cheeky caption: “Stand up if you love... Madaaars.”
Razma was hoping to have been on the Austrian Darts Open stage instead
Looking back on his night in Graz, Razma wrote: "Enjoyed great atmosphere in darts with my friends, just unfortunately on the other side of the stage. Thank you Graz."
