Michael van Gerwen has risen to second place in the Premier League Darts after his narrow victory on Friday evening.
The 31-year-old Dutchman
defeated Nathan Aspinall 8-6 after an early 4-1 deficit. Van Gerwen is four points behind leader
Glen Durrant. The latter strengthened the lead after
a 8-4 victory over Gerwyn Price.
Van Gerwen keeps
Gary Anderson and
Peter Wright behind on leg difference. Anderson
won the Scottish clash on Friday evening and therefore also came on twelve points.
Michael Smith kept the top four in sight after
simply beating Daryl Gurney. The role of Gurney seems to be over now with only six points from ten matches.
