Dimitri van den Bergh is the latest player through to the Quarter-Finals at the World Matchplay after producing a brilliant comeback to see off Joe Cullen 11-9.
Van den Bergh was 8-5 down against Cullen and was seemingly heading out of the tournament but produced when it mattered to continue his dream
World Matchplay debut.
Cullen had the advantage early taking out 97 to go 4-2 up but DvdB always kept on his coattails. He took out 138 to go 5-3 behind but at the interval the two leg cushion was restored at 6-4 up.
'The Rockstar' landed a break of throw with an 11-darter to go 8-5 up but this is when the game changed. Van den Bergh hit back immediately and levelled with Cullen having chances himself to lead 9-5.
He hit the front from there and despite Cullen putting it back to parity with a 118 checkout, Van den Bergh surged to an excellent win from there.
