Rob Cross will try to capture his second World Series title in a row this weekend in Denmark. Last weekend, 'Voltage' was successful at the US Darts Masters in New York.
This weekend, the PDC top players are in Copenhagen, where the
Nordic Darts Masters will be played. Cross travelled to this tournament full of confidence, he told PDC.tv.
“I feel like I’ve been playing well all year,” said the 33-year-old.
“I just need to be a little bit more disciplined because the game is changing. Everyone is progressing, and if I need to be better at my job then I need to put the work in.
He has enjoyed success on the World Series circuit before, as Cross also won the World Series tournaments in New Zealand and Australia last year. Following these successes, Cross also performed well on the majors, with a final at the Grand Slam of Darts and a semi-final at the World Darts Championship.
“The World Series has been a catalyst for me. I believe it’s changed me as a player.
“If you want to be the best in the world I think it’s very important to be involved in the World Series, because you’re taking the game all over the world, and darts is as big as it’s ever been.”
Cross will play Jeffrey de Graaf in the first round of the Nordic Darts Masters on Friday night. For the Swedish Dutchman, it will be his debut at the World Series. De Graaf and Cross met back in December at the World Darts Championship. Then the victory went to Cross 4-2 in sets.
