Luke Humphries and Joe Cullen are the first two Quarter-Finalists at the German Darts Open in Jena and are set for a quality clash during Sunday evening's session.
Humphries in particular was in red-hot form as he looks for a fifth European Tour title of the season. He produced a 6-3 win over Dave Chisnall thanks to an average of over 105. The scoring difference proved to be huge with 'Cool Hand Luke' producing 25 scores of 100 or more compared to only 11 from 'Chizzy'.
This was also bookended by a high checkout of 140 as he sent out a statement with victory over the St Helens ace, while for Cullen, it wasn't as impressive but his charge for back-to-back European Tour titles remains.
'The Rockstar' was 4-2 up but saw Gurney surge back into contention only to slam the door after surviving a match dart in the tenth leg which was followed by a 107 checkout in the deciding leg.
