Mission Darts announce multi-year deal for reigning WDF Boys’ World Champion

Mission Darts has announced that reigning WDF Boys’ World Champion, Archie Self, has signed a multi-year contract to extend his partnership with the brand.

At just 15 years old, Self reached a major career milestone last December on the iconic Lakeside stage. In a thrilling final at the WDF Boys’ World Championship, he edged out Jenson Walker in a dramatic 3-2 victory. That triumph was the crowning achievement of an exceptional 2024 for ‘The Archer.’ Alongside his world title, Self secured an impressive four tournament wins, finishing the JDC Advanced Tour as the number one ranked player.

Since joining the Mission Academy in 2021, Self has built an outstanding youth career, capturing numerous titles and representing England on multiple international stages. One of his standout moments came as captain of England A at the JDC World Cup in Gibraltar, where he led his team to a championship victory.

“I am delighted to have signed a new long-term contract with Mission. My darts have got better and better over the last few years because of the support and guidance I have received," said Self in a press release. “Having Darryl Fitton and Steve Reed there at Lakeside supporting me to go on and win the WDF Boys World Championship meant a lot to me. The next few years are crucial in my career and I know that Mission will be there to support and help me with anything I need. I would also like to thank my family and friends as without them I would not be able to do what I do. I am looking forward to many more successful years with Mission!”

“Having seen Archie's progression over the last three years, we are happy to be continuing our journey together. What I have noticed about Archie is the way he is with the younger players in Team Mission. He is always happy to help and offer advice which is great to see," Fitton added. "2024 was a big year for Archie, finishing top of the JDC Advanced Tour and becoming the boys world champion at Lakeside. I'm excited to see what he can achieve in 2025 and look forward to following his progress."
