Zuiderduin/Finder Darts Masters scrapped from BDO Calendar

There will be no new edition of the Zuiderduin/Finder Darts Masters in Egmond aan Zee, according to Dutch darts commentator Jacques Nieuwlaat.

Earlier it was announced that Finder, title sponsor between 2015 and 2018, stopped partnership with the Finder Darts Masters after last years edition. The organization subsequently failed to find a new sponsor for this event.

Nieuwlaat says it's a shame that one of the remaining BDO majors disappears from the calendar. ''Another institution that is forced to close its doors. It's really a shame there's no room for it anymore. I will miss it'', he said on Twitter.

Glen Durrant will go into the history books as the last winner of the Finder Darts Masters. 'Duzza' defeated Richard Veenstra in the final last year. The Middlesbrough ace also won this tournament in 2015 and 2016. Only Raymond van Barneveld won this event more then Durrant, as the Dutch darting legend claimed the title in 1995, 2001, 2003 and 2004.
