The league phase of the
Premier League Darts 2022 is over. Jonny Clayton has become the first winner of the new format.
The eight participants played a mini-tournament every week for sixteen weeks. Clayton reached eight weekly finals, four of which he won. In total 'The Ferret' gained forty points.
Michael van Gerwen came in second with 31 points. Van Gerwen played in seven finals, of which he won three. The top four was completed by James Wade (25 points) and Joe Cullen (24 points).
Cullen won against Peter Wright in the last week of play, keeping the Scot (22 points) in fifth place. Michael Smith captured his first weekly title at the last minute in Newcastle, which put him in sixth place in the final rankings. Gerwyn Price was seventh, while Gary Anderson finished last with just nine points.
