The European PDC Q-School saw the second day of the Final Stage on Friday. The tournament was won by
Kai Gotthardt, who defeated his compatriot
Steven Noster 6-5 in an all-German final. Gotthardt thus captures a PDC Tour Card for the next two years.
The highest average of the day also came in the name of Gotthardt. In the last 32, he was too strong 6-0 to Dutchman Jamai van den Herik, achieving an average of 108.65.
The second highest average was for
Maik Kuivenhoven. The 36-year-old Dutchman, who lost his Tour Card early this year and hopes to regain it immediately at Q-School, defeated Damian Mol 6-1 in the second round. Kuivenhoven eventually stranded in the quarterfinals after a 6-5 defeat to Dominik Gruelich. Kuivenhoven is in good shape, by the way, with a provisional fifth place in the Q-School Order of Merit. After the
European Q-School, the top twelve on the Order of Merit will also receive a Tour Card.
Jeffrey de Zwaan stranded in fourth place of highest averages on Day 2
The top three is completed by another Dutchman. Davy Proosten beat
Jeffrey de Zwaan 6-0 at the last 16, averaging 99.10. Proosten eventually lost a round later 6-1 to Gotthardt.
Q-School continues today with Day 3 of the Final Stage. For the winner of the tournament, a PDC Tour Card for the next two years awaits once again. In addition, good business can also be done for the Order of Merit.
