With the BDO World Darts Championship not taking place this month due to the organisation’s demise, DartsNews looks back at classic moments and matches throughout January from the showpiece event.
Onto 2014 and Stephen Bunting claimed the title with victory over Alan Norris in the final. Scott Waites was the defending champion but lost to Norris in the first round 3-0.
This tournament saw the biggest field ever for a BDO World Championship. 56 players – 40 men, up from 32 in 2013, and 16 women – up from 8 in 2013 competed for the two World titles with the Women's title won by Lisa Ashton.
