Cross came so close to a shock defeat against Noppert with the debutant 4-2 up and seemingly on his way to a shock win.
Four straight legs from ‘Voltage’ did the trick with a 97.17 average as he averted the shock.
For Wright it was a lot easier with ‘Snakebite’ smashing Wattimena in a 6-0 whitewash win.
He sent a message to the rest of the players involved in the tournament with a 101.33 average and 75% on the doubles.
Despite it not being a massive average, it will be a massive confidence boost for Wright who’s form has been intermittent as of late.
