Durrant smashed Michael van Gerwen in a 7-2 victory to go on the verge of a second
PDC ranking title. They were facing off in a first competitive meeting and the Teesside ace took advantage where other players have not against Mighty Mike.
He found the treble 20 with alarming regularity and when he broke the throw of MVG, he kept his cool when he streaked ahead only allowing Van Gerwen back to claim a leg at the back end of the contest.
An 82 checkout saw him claim the tie with Van Gerwen sat on double 20 looking to claw his way back into the contest and on a weekend where MVG was looking to return to the Pro Tour with a bang, he has been stopped in his tracks by an excellent Glen Durrant.
Labanauskas and Meulenkamp on the other hand was a lot even for the most part but it was the Lithuanian making a first final not only for himself in the PDC but also for his country who is through to face Durrant.
He secured the 7-4 victory with a flourish smashing in a 160 checkout to send a message ahead of what will likely be a thrilling final between two former exponents of the BDO Tour.
