Hopp last player to reach quarter-finals at European Championship

Max Hopp completed the lineup for the quarter-finals at the European Championship. The German defeated James Wilson in front of his home crowd with 10-7.
'The Maximiser' bounced back from 6-7 behind, as he hit a 10-dart leg to level the match. Then he took an 8-7 lead with a 13-dart leg, followed by a terrific 156 checkout to increase his lead. Hopp then finished 48 to claim the victory.
James Wade edged out Ricky Evans, after winning seven legs on the spin against 'Rapid Ricky'. Wade went from 0-1 to 7-1, before Evans came back to 8-5. 'The Machine' then hit back-to-back 12-dart legs to confirm his place in the quarter-finals.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
