Ahead of Lakeside starting next month, Dartsnews.com caught up with Lorraine Winstanley for an interview that will be released in two parts before Lakeside. The current Winmau World Masters champion spoke about how she got into darts, signing for Target, Lakeside and winning her first major earlier this year. Interviews with other players competing at Lakeside will be released before the event starts at Frimley Green in January. 'I got into Darts by working in the pub. I sometimes worked the quiet day shifts where there were only a couple of people in so I’d end up having a game with them in between serving.' 'I’m over the moon to have signed with Target. The leading manufacturers of Darts with a fantastic team of players. It’s an honour to be part of that. As for my new Darts they are being worked on as we speak so watch this space.' 'I love playing at the lakeside and I’d say this years field is the toughest to date. There’s no easy games there and it’s all in the day. I’m putting the work in and the practice is going well.' 'Winning a major as prestigious as the World Masters is amazing. I’ve had the best year of darting career so far and it’s finally showing.' Interview conducted by Samuel Gill, writer for Dartsnews.com
