Van Gerwen annoyed by complains Anderson: 'Then he should keep his mounth shut during rest of the season'

Michael van Gerwen is annoyed by Gary Anderson's complains about his back injury. The 29-year-old Dutchman says that 'The Flying Scotsman tries too often to put himself in an underdog position.
''Gary complains about his back all year. Maybe it's serious now, but then he should keep his mounth shut during the rest of the season. It's impossible to struggle with a back injury all the time, while throwing averages between 107 and 110 in all your games'', Van Gerwen told . ''He likes it to put himself in an underdog position, that annoys me. He does not need that at all, because Gary is a very good player and has so much talent. Then he should not say things like that, I'm very honest about that.'' Anderson , which started on Friday with the world's sixteen best players. The 2019 Premier League Darts starts on Thursday and it's unknown if the Scotsman will make his appearance. Van Gerwen has no doubts about that and thinks Anderson returns on stage this Thursday. ''Trust me, Gary is going to play Premier League. I dare to bet on that, he will not withdraw. He can't do that to his sponsors. Or something must be completely wrong with his back of course. I can't judge on that, so I must believe his word.''

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
