After a successful first edition in 2020, the second iteration of the Online World Championship kicks off this week.
Last year, this event was created during the Coronavirus pandemic when no other tournaments could be played.
Anyone could participate in this with scores being entered online after every turn. The field of participants in 2020 had 1540 from no less than sixty different countries.
A large number of well-known players took part and Dirk van Duijvenbode will be back to defend his title.
This alongside the likes of Ritchie Edhouse, Jelle Klaasen, Mike de Decker, Ricky Evans, Rowby-John Rodriguez, Ryan Searle, Chris Dobey, Andy Boulton and Kim Huybrechts.
The first round (last 1024) of the online World Championship begins on June 7. According to the current schedule, the final will be played between July 13-16.
