Colin Osborne, a former UK Open finalist and Championship League winner has had a renaissance of sorts in his career with his stint in the MODUS Online Live League.
Showing consistent form and winning a weekly title, 'The Wizard' spoke to Online Darts about rebuilding from dropping off the PDC Tour.
"I've put a lot of hard work in behind the scenes over the last few years and it's nice to get a few rewards. The confidence is building all the time and when you're winning games, your confidence comes back so things are looking good," said Osborne.
"I've went away, I've regrouped in the last few years I've put the hard work in and it's nice to find a bit of form.
Target on your back
He spoke also about having that target on your back after you drop off the PDC Tour and the effect of that.
"I think so in the beginning when I first went after I'd slipped off the tour. It's such a mind game this is and you've just got to stand there and throw your darts and the old cliche if you hit what you're looking at, things are good but it doesn't always work like that.
Return to form in MODUS League
With David Evans as a leading example, the MODUS League has provided many players with the opportunity for match practice in a truncated time due to Covid.
"I think it's a massive advantage, it's that match practice, it's that one-to-one. I've rebuilt everything and I find now I'm playing a lot more relaxed and I'm playing with a smile on my face. If I turn up and play my A game, I will take some beating."
"I'm 46 in a couple of weeks time and I still feel my game is as good as anybody's when I perform and I've still got a few years left in this game."
