Richie Burnett qualified for the PDC
World Darts Championship through the last gasp qualifier and will face Adam Gawlas in the opening round with Ryan Searle awaiting the winner.
Burnett makes his first appearance since 2014 with a drugs ban inbetween for 'The Prince of Wales' but the Welshman will make his return after coming from the brink to revive his career.
"At the time when I got through I didn't think nothing of it, but now when you think about what's been achieved after all these years it's sunk in a bit now. Now it's the time to think ahead,
"I was expecting it but of course I was overjoyed and had a bit of a tear in my eye when I went to sleep that night. It was quite good for me because I've had some tough times in the past and I've got through them.

Hitting huge averages in the qualifier, Burnett lamented his luck at times this season. "I was doing that all year and people were just doing silly stuff against me but I spoke to a few people and they said there's no way you can keep playing like that and not get results. I just stuck that and not changed much, just kept trying and it just clicked and I knew there was a day that it would."
But the belief is there that one final darting fairytale can come for Burnett. "I can be a stubborn person, I've always believed in myself. There are no grey areas with me, it's either black or white so if I can keep playing to the level I know I can, I've got every chance and I know that."
