Rob Cross saw off Brendan Dolan in a 6-2 win averaging 88 in the process as he reached the second round of 2022 Masters where he will play Jose de Sousa to begin today's afternoon session.
"I expected to play a lot better and to be fair, the averages weren't great. Everything in the game weren't great, Brendan missed a lot of doubles. I think I was expecting a tougher game but it never materialised," said Cross post match.
Injury
He also revealed he is the latest player to fall to tennis elbow but that it is solved and he has no issues currently with it.
"I've had a problem with my elbow. It's been sort of on and off practicing here and there but it's a lot better now. I've been playing all right but I think the tournament itself - just coming back to work was why I was a little bit more edgy than I should have been tonight."
Premier League
A lot of talk has been there about the Premier League and for Cross, while he wants to be in - he trusts the PDC to make the right choice.
"I sit at 10 in the world, I'm not in the top eight. There's only eight players that can go in and I believe the PDC will do the right choice.
"I feel like I've got more to offer this year. I've got nothing to defend, I want to play again so obviously for my own personal reasons I want to be in."
