Gerwyn Price in particular has received this after his needle with Gary Anderson last year and Cross called it disrespectful and that it is something that needs to be stopped.
‘Voltage’ added that from his perspective, as the sport gets bigger and bigger; it needs to be eradicated.
'There wasn't too many whistles, you only ever notice the whistles and the boos and cheers are just one of those things in the game,' said Cross to Dartsnews.com
'I think the whistles are a little bit disrespectful though, I think we need to stop the whistling and if they want to give anyone any stick, they do the boos.'
'It's one of those things, darts is developing and we're playing in bigger arenas and as a professional myself, we're getting used to them. Darts is in a great place and hopefully over the years we get rid of the whistling.'
