Dobey looking to prove a point at World Matchplay after Masters success: "I need to go on to get another one and show that it wasn't just a one hit wonder"

Chris Dobey has qualified for the second round of the World Matchplay. 'Hollywood' defeated James Wade 10-8 in one of the ties of the round.

For Dobey, it was the first win in four appearances at the Winter Gardens. "To have my mum and dad here to witness my first win really meant a lot," Dobey said. "I could hear her in the background and yeah, it's nice to have them there."

Dobey won the Masters earlier this year and is keen to prove it wasn't a fluke. "Winning my first major gave me the kick up the backside," says 'Hollywood'. "I need to go on to get another one and show that it wasn't just a one hit wonder."
