Gurney criticises 'two-faced' pundits after victory against Wright: 'There's people writing you off before you even play'

Daryl Gurney will take on Rob Cross tonight in the first World Matchplay semi-final but criticised pundits such as Wayne Mardle after his victory against Peter Wright.

He said that while he has nothing against him he said that he writes him off multiple times then says all the best to him but he says he keeps believing as a result. He added that he never really listens but said that it can be two-faced from those involved.

"Obviously Mr Wayne Mardle, I haven't got anything against him, but when he's writing me off twice and sees me in the hallway and says "all the best" it's a wee bit hard to take, but I'll always keep on believing.

"I never really listen, but whenever there's people writing you off before you even play and then can be two-faced when they say "all the best, champ."

"Then you listen to them live on TV and they're more or less writing you off."
